Your Travel checklist 

Here’s a checklist of items to consider before your flight.

  • Australian passport holders must apply online for an Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA).
  • Have proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test within 72 hours of your flight. Airlines will request this documentation prior to boarding.
  • Within 72 hours prior to travel you are required to use the ArriveCAN App to upload your proof of vaccination certificate and other travel information.
  • Obtain your proof of vaccination using the International COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate (ICVC).
  • Ensure you have adequate travel insurance cover (including COVID-19 cover).

On arrival into Canada

You must be fully vaccinated to travel to Canada. On arrival into Canada, you’ll need to show proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test conducted within 72 hours of boarding your flight.

  • Some passengers will be randomly selected for an arrival COVID-19 test by border officials.
  • Travellers are also required to use the ArriveCAN App during their stay.

Returning to Australia

  • Take a COVID-19 PCR test and complete an Australian Declaration Form online within 72 hours of your departing flight. You’ll need a negative COVID-19 PCR test result for check-in.
  • Ensure you have your mask with you and your Australian International COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate (ICVC) is easily accessible.
